In the municipality of Forcarei, 77 “mámoas” have been identified and mapped. The “mámoas” are mounds of land which, in the Neolithic period, were used as a burial area for the dead. They are usually located on mounds and near passageways. The large number of “mámoas” makes them an interesting resource for the creation and installation of informative and interpretative panels explaining their structure, function and history.
