Due to the increasing ageing of the population, a phenomenon that is occurring both at municipal and state level, the Town Council of Forcarei felt the need to increase the services provided to this sector of the population.

These include the creation of a Centre for the Elderly, thanks to the project carried out by the San Rosendo Foundation.

This Foundation is dedicated to the construction of Residences and Care Centres in rural areas; these facilities are integrated within the village of Forcarei so that users can continue to participate in the cultural, religious, social or festive activities of their locality, allowing them to remain in contact with their environment, family or friends.

This initiative contributes to boosting rural areas, as it provides jobs for people of working age, avoiding migratory movements towards the cities, while at the same time covering the care needs of our elderly.

Services offered

The Residence has been in operation since 2010 where the residents of Forcarei have the following services offered by this non-profit foundation:

Supervised flats: a total of 14 flats of 45 m2 each, located 8 on the left side of the building and 6 on the right side. These flats are located on the 1st floor and have an entrance hall, living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
Residence for the Elderly: located on the first floor of the building, it has a surface area of 2040.91 m2. On the left side of the building there are 29 double rooms and 4 single rooms (capacity for 62 people) with complete sanitary facilities in each room and 2 geriatric bathrooms.
Day centre: with capacity for 12 people, located on the ground floor. The mezzanine floor houses the General Services, which include: rehabilitation room, mortuary, wake room, laundry and various storerooms.
