Civil Protection
Civil protection is a public service aimed at preventing situations of serious collective risk, whether due to catastrophes, traffic accidents, meteorological phenomena or mass control due to major events.

Civil Protection answers the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has the collaboration of 6 volunteers who work altruistically, dedicating part of their time and effort to work for the safety of all the neighbours.

Groups
The team of people who make up this non-profit volunteer group is made up of the following people:
- Volunteers: are people who are constant, who are paid for the minimum services.
- Collaborators: these are people who are called upon in extreme cases of staff shortages or in large numbers of services.

The basic functions of Civil Protection are:
- Collaborate with state bodies and forces in the search for missing persons.
- Collaborate with the 112 emergency centre and other emergency services in assisting people injured in traffic accidents,
- To collaborate with the fire brigade and fire-fighting services in extinguishing both forest and urban fires, with the maxim "to mobilise whenever human life or property is at risk".
- Crowd control, for festivals, sporting events, demonstrations ...
- The control and collection of dangerous or abandoned animals.
- Collaborate, both in the preparation and in the execution of plans and protocols for action in Municipal Emergencies.
All of them with their corresponding equipment and ready for any warning they may have from 112.
The basic functions of Civil Protection are:
- An all-terrain forest fire-fighting truck equipped with a 4,000-litre water tank and fire-fighting equipment.
- Two snow ploughs, one of which can be attached to the municipal tractor, for clearing municipal slopes during snowfalls in winter, allowing for quick work.
- Two Nissan Qascai and Nissan Patrol off-road cars, with Trunking communication equipment from the Xunta de Galicia network.
- Stabilisation equipment for casualties, mattresses, stretcher, splints and collars, and communication equipment from the City Council network.
Also today, civil protection attends to the telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has the collaboration of 6 volunteers who play their role altruistically, devoting part of their time and effort to work for the safety of all residents. All of them have basic and complementary training and, in some cases, training in excarceration, treatment of bee and wasp swarms, basic life support, road accidents, ground support for emergency aircraft, intervention of canine rescue units in the search for people, intervention protocol for Asian wasps, among many others.
