The City Council of Forcarei organises an excursion to Valença and Baiona for the neighbourhood.

The local government wants to promote new leisure activities for the people of Forcarei to enjoy, after two long years of restrictions due to the pandemic. After two long years with many restrictions due to the pandemic of covid-19, the City Council of Forcarei is promoting new leisure activities for the residents of the municipality to enjoy. The first of them is an excursion to Valença del Minho, in the North of Portugal, and to the town of Baiona, next May 4th. The neighbourhood will be able to go to the famous fair of Valença and eat in a restaurant near it, and in the afternoon they will enjoy a fantastic walk through the streets and the fortress of Baiona. The price of the excursion is 34 euros and includes the bus service, breakfast in Portugal with a codfish menu and travel insurance. The departure from Forcarei will be at 9.00 a.m. (social centre) and the return from Baiona at 7.00 p.m. Encouraging an active life for the whole neighbourhood has always been one of the objectives of the local government and the mayoress Verónica Pichel said that this will not be the only excursion. In fact, another similar activity is already planned for upcoming dates to visit O Grove, including a boat trip, and Cambados, and the Forcarei Town Council will also recover this year the traditional ‘Lunch for the Elderly’. The date has not yet been set, but on this occasion it will be held outdoors to increase safety guarantees.
