Mountain complex with a total area of 10 669 ha. It is home to 18 habitat types. The best represented are natural and semi-natural grassy formations, rocky habitats and caves, and forests. The most outstanding habitat types present in this area are the Atlantic wet “queirogais” of Erica ciliaris and Erica tetralix, the active high peat bogs and the forests of Ilex aquifolium. This mountain range also has other attractions, such as the various wind farms installed on its peaks, which are visible from a large part of the territory. There are various informative and interpretative signs that explain the values of the mountain range.
