Festa gastronómica da Richada
Gastronomic event dedicated to “richada” meat, a typical recipe of the municipality of Forcarei. The event is enlivened with recreational events; workshops, concerts and cultural events. The associated restaurants are the Vitoria, París and Florida restaurants, although all of them should be associated, as it represents a typical dish of the municipality. The “richada” is made with veal, specifically the part of the front leg (croca), which is very tender and juicy, garlic, sliced onion, white wine and sweet and hot peppers. It is served with boiled potatoes. The recipe is a legacy of the muleteers who transported the meat for the journey and tenderised it under the weight of the vats of wine and then cut it into strips, similar to today’s form, and seasoned it with onion, garlic and pepper to give it more flavour.
